The HLS PTSO is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.  Our mission as a Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) at Highland Lakes School is to promote and encourage communication between parents, students, teachers, administration and the community.  The PTSO also sponsors and organizes fundraising and school events, which deepen our community spirit and enrich our children's educational, social, and developmental experiences at Highland Lakes. We are an entirely volunteer-led organization and serve over 1200 students.

2015-2016 Accomplishments:

  • Communication folders for all K-3 students
  • Scholastic magazines for all first and second grade classes
  • Organized "Drink Drive" to collect drink donations for concession sales
  • Coordinate Concession Sales which benefited several school clubs and teachers.
  • Organized the following events:

    • Monthly Family Nights
    • Variety Show
    • Spring Fling
    • Holiday Shop
    • Art Fair
  • Started Copy Cats program
  • Provided Monthly Teacher and Staff Appreciation which included birthday's and 3 Staff lunch/dinners.
  • Organized Spirit Wear Sales and Spirit Wear Fridays
  • Made campus wide technology and classroom improvements with Bearathon funds.  This included  two full carts of Chromebooks, 
  • Provided and Managed Character Cart store monthly
  • Provided holiday donations for two DVUSD Head Start families in need
