The PTSO Calendar is up for the entire year and events we need volunteers for all have a sign up sheet hosted at signup.com. Please direct your parents and volunteers to the direct link at http://signup.com/go/Fxk9Xz or to the Parents page.
PTSO is hosting a Back to School Family Dance where parents, teachers and students can get together, share their talents and get to know each other. You won’t want to miss this great community building event on August 10th from 6-8. There will be FUN as well as an area to sign up for Fry’s Community Rewards, grab a Box Tops bag, and Amazon Smile. Bling N Ink will also be there to take orders and show samples.
There will be two Talent Shows this year! Fall Talent Show for 5th– 8th grade and teachers and Spring Talent Show for 1st through 4th and families! Students LOVE when teachers participate and you all make great role models so please participate. The Fall Show will be on September 28th. Visit our Talent Show page for updated information.
Our general meetings will be every quarter; October 12th, December 7th, March 1st and May 3rd. There will be additional Committee Planning Meetings and a Bearathon Funds Meeting TBD.
The Bear Bucks have a new face and have switched colors. Mr. Anderson is on the $2 bill which is now green, and Mr. Pletnick is on the $1 bill which is now yellow. The store is open once a month, starting in September and skipping November. Click here for a schedule
Concessions will be available again this year for clubs and classrooms to earn funds during special events and games. More info to come once we have the sports schedules. If there is an event you would like to open concessions for that we don't know about, let us know!
The Copy Cats program will be available again this year. You can find a form in the basket in the copy room. There will be a volunteer at HLS most days of the week.
Bearathon is the most important event of the year! PTSO has set a goal of $45,000 and in order to reach that goal we need all Parents, Teachers and Students excited and participating. We are actively seeking sponsors for the event. If you know of any families with small businesses we would love to partner with them. Please share our partners page for more information.
Favorites - because our teachers and staff are so loved by the parents and students the PTSO will continue to compile a list of your favorite things so please update here.
We are promoting Fry’s Community Rewards, Box Tops, and Amazon Smile for fundraisers this year. Anyone that signs up can get a $2 Bear Buck, which are available in the work room. Kinder teachers we will give you some treasure box items those students can get. Please promote these programs as itisfundraising that doesn’t require a lot of effort!
Kona Ice will be here on ½ days and Mauna Kea on days before a holiday. Kona has some great teacher programs this year Adopt a Classroom , Krafted Flavors for teachers and staff only, and 1 free refill on souvenir cups for staff. Mauna Kea offers a free ice too, just show your ID.
