  • The PTSO websitehas been updated for the new year!  It is a valuable resource for teachers, students and parents. Please share the link in all communications with parents! We have also updated our spirit wear and now have a full online store available on our webpage www.highlandlakesptso.comThe new company we are using doesn't require a minimum order before we can place the order so the items will come quicker. We also have a Facebook page Highland Lakes PTSO that is kept up daily with happenings going on around the HLS campus.  This is a great resource for parents too.

  • The PTSO event calendar is up for the year with a few exceptions. The calendar is subject to change and/or events to be cancelled due to circumstances, lack of volunteers and/or lack of interest in the event.  We will communicate any changes/cancelations or add ons to the calendar.

  • Easy ways HLS families can support HLS on the easy ways parents can help contribute to HLS this year!  We can’t stress this enough this school year. Fundraising WILL be difficult so we ask that you please share all the little/easy things that parents can do. We still want to be able to provide support as much as possible for our teachers this school year. We will send you a copy of the slideshow to share with parents after the first couple weeks of school for you to share with parents. Some easy ways for parents to contribute include:

    • Box Tops (some clippings still, mostly scan receipts)

    • Amazon Smile (can now be done through the app under settings, make sure to add it to your personal Amazon account and tell all your friends and family!)

    • Fry’s Community Rewards (easily done through the Fry’s app just add Highland Lakes PTSO to your choice charity, again tell your friends and family)

    • Restaurant Fundraising - everyone has to eat, so why not help support HLS while feeding their families.

    • American Furniture Warehouse - mention Highland Lakes at time of purchase

    • Tuft and Needle Mattress - choose Highland Lakes in the pulldown menu at time of purchase

  • PTSO general meetingswill be held the 1st Friday of each month at 9:00 am.  Meetings will be held in the conference room.

  • The Bear Bucks will be changing colors. Students can use last year's bucks at the first Bear Buck store ONLY. Please pass that information onto your students and discard any old bear bucks. Mr. Anderson will be on the $2 buck in red and Mrs. Ware on the $1 in blue.

  • Your Favorites - Our teachers and staff are so loved by the parents and students, that the PTSO will continue to compile a list of your favorite things for parents/students to look up when wanting to give a special thanks. We are updating this for our staff this year, so everyone will need to update and resubmit.  Please update here.

  • The Copy Cats program program is returning. Please fill out the form instructing the copier of your wants and attach it to the original. Place it in the basket in the workroom. Copies will be placed in your box or the counter depending on size.

  • Bearathon is the most important event of the year! This event lets us support you in so many different ways. With technology being loaned out, it is important for us to continue going strong. More information to come as we get closer to the event. We are actively seeking sponsors for the event.

  • Teachers lounge - We will stock the teachers lounge with snacks once a month. Grab them while they are there, they go quick! The teachers lounge will be relocating back into the 500 hall. Please try to clean up after yourself, the ants LOVE this room.
